Statement of Policy
The Department of Pharmacology and Pharmacy of The University of Hong Kong (referred to collectively as “the Department”, “we” and “our”) is committed to protecting your privacy in compliance with the requirements of Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance in the management of personal information which you may provide to us voluntarily. We will ensure engaging administrators and staffs to uphold the obligations of strictly safeguarding your privacy.

Statement of Practices
1. Personal Information Held
We mainly collect personnel records including your name, email address and profession particulars. The information is collected directly from you upon completing any data collection instruments associated with our platform.

2. Purpose of Collection
All information collected from the registration form will be used for purposes relating to the administration of the training programme “Asia Pacific Perspectives for Healthcare Professionals in Advanced Therapy – from Bench to Bedside”. Data collected in the form will be recorded in the database of the Department of Pharmacology and Pharmacy, The University of Hong Kong (“Department”). In addition, the Department may use the collected data for statistical research and analysis, and for keeping registrants updated on the programme. Department may share and transfer the information to relevant councils and professional bodies of Hong Kong for the purpose of verifying and updating registrants progress in participating continuing education.

Data held by the Department will be kept strictly confidential, safeguarded carefully and will not disclose the data to any third parties for any purposes without your consent.

3. Information Collected at Background When You Visit Our Website
The Continuing Professional Development Platform is using Google Analytics, a web analytics service that collects and report statistics on our website’s website traffic. Statistics collected may include user demographical information such as age and geography. The Continuing Professional Development Platform is collecting such data for the purpose of enhancing and optimizing our platform’s user experience to achieve sustainable development and expansion. We are incapable of obtaining, and neither have any intentions in nor utilizations of these visitor data for identifying or tracking any persons via this analytics service.

In the pursuit for sustainable development of the Continuing Professional Development Platform, non-personally identifiable statistics may be reported or published internally or publicly to evaluate coverage and impacts of our platform.

4. Protection Measures
Only authorized administrators and personnel are allowed to have access to the personal data collected during the registration of individuals to our platform. We take appropriate measurements to protect the data against any undesired loss, unauthorized use or disclosure.

5. Retention of Data
We will retain the information collected as long as your user account is not terminated either voluntarily or by our administrators for informed reason(s).

6. Data Access, Correction and Deletion
You have the legal right to access, make corrections and request deletions to your personal data stored on the Continuing Professional Development Platform.
